When I was writing my last article devoted to furniture stores in Budapest, in 2017 I got a lot of comments and questions. It seems that it was not so easy to buy a nice piece of furniture in Budapest. The choices were quite limited back then. It is a really nice surprise to see how the city has responded for this demand in the past few years and now I am happy to present you 15 new stores offering different styles of furniture. Checking various home decor websites, I have realized that many people are searching nowadays for refurbished or vintage furniture. When I was renovating my flat in 2014, scandinavian interior was extremely popular. I feel that now 70′ interior design is coming back! Although I am a very big fan of clean design and rather warm colours, I am totally in love with the art deco style, and currently I am looking for some home decor items in this style.
All of these stores procure, save and upcycle old pieces of furniture and make them look beautiful again!

Another store offering a large collection of 20th century modern design furniture, lightings and objects is MÖBELKUNST. You will find there are also vintage pieces from the 1940-80s, with a focus on Scandinavian and Hungarian designers.

Modern design
If you wish to buy modern pieces of furniture but with a great aesthetic and attention to details, I can recommend InnoShop, Beliani (no stationary shop in Budapest, but free delivery to Hungary) and LigneRosetBudapest.
For those who love antique and high end furniture plus have unlimited amounts of money, I can recommend AMIKOR, ArtcoreAntikandDesign and Bardoni. Bardoni is my all time favourite store and every time I pass Falk Miksa street I can’t take my eyes from the shop window.
